Young Changemakers: The Koffler Arts Studio Program Community Programs Mar 01, 2023- Jun 30, 2026 In partnership with Recreate Place, Koffler Arts is pleased to announce the launch of Young Changemakers: The Koffler Arts Studio Program. With generous funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, over the next three years, Young Changemakers will deliver contemporary arts based programming for children ages 8-12 in schools across Toronto.
With a thematic focus on counter-narratives, our year-round Books & Ideas series features authors who use writing and books as tools of resistance.
We present innovative, participatory performance projects that showcase the work of local and international playwrights, directors and performers experimenting with content and form.
Our gallery conversations offer an inclusive platform for the exchange of ideas around social justice and current global concerns, cultivating dialogue across creative disciplines and cultural communities.
Our community programs unite professional artists with community members in collaborative, participatory art-making processes that foster inclusivity and dialogue, and amplify marginalized voices.
Onsite guided gallery tours, facilitated discussions, and hands-on workshops offer opportunities for a wide variety of audiences – from students to community groups – to exchange ideas and express themselves creatively.
Offsite workshops at schools and community organizations are inspired by our current exhibitions, revolving around themes of identity, memory and place, and promoting ideals of social justice.
